Colposcopes by Karl Kaps (Germany)

The German company Karl Kaps holds a strong position in the medical optical equipment market. Founded in 1946, the company initially produced components for film projectors and later optical sights. From the late 1970s onwards, the company shifted its focus entirely to the development and production of optical systems for medical applications, including colposcopes.
Today, under the Karl Kaps brand, equipment is produced for gynecology, ENT, dentistry, and general surgery.
The Karl Kaps colposcope range is divided into two main categories:

• Standard (diagnostic) colposcopes — the KP series, designed for routine examinations.
• Expert colposcopes — the SOM series, which is modular and offers expanded diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities, including adaptation for a laser or a video camera.
